On January 17, 2025, Xovery made its first public appearance as part of the 5G4LIVES project, an initiative that aims to harness 5G connectivity and advanced technologies for public safety and environmental sustainability. The event took place in Turin, Italy, and was attended by CTE Next, the city’s Emerging Technologies House, which supported the official unveiling of the drone-driver.
Xovery and 5G: a winning synergy
During the presentation, the team coordinated by CIM4.0 illustrated the revolutionary potential of Xovery, an aerial system that combines the versatility of a drone with the stability and range of an airship. With 5G connectivity, Xovery can benefit from low-latency remote control, improving accuracy in flight operations and effectiveness in environmental monitoring, urban security and emergency management missions.
The event was an important showcase for demonstrating how the combination of air mobility and emerging technologies can contribute to the evolution of smart cities, making Turin a reference point in applied innovation in sustainable mobility.
A springboard for the future
The presentation of Xovery with CTE Next and 5G4LIVES marks a first step toward integrating the system into real-world scenarios. The interest generated by the event opened up new opportunities for collaboration, solidifying Xovery’s role as a key technology for the future of connected cities.
